Subject: [WebAIM] Creating PDFs from DTP applications

PageMaker 7 and InDesign CS2 and later can both create tagged PDFs
automatically. (So can FrameMaker.) Nobody has to "assume" InDesign is
better at doing so than Quark; it simply is, since Quark can't produce a

tagged PDF (or any PDF that isn't a dog's breakfast). You just tick the
"Use eBook tags" option (CS2) when exporting to PDF. With properly
threaded text frames, reading order is no problem. You still have to
manually add alt texts.

You can't seriously consider Microsoft Publisher, or Microsoft anything,

an actual DTP application.
