To my knowledge no screen reader has support for row span. I do not know why

.. in other words, you can navigate within tables but I do not think NVDA has a keystroke for speaking all context info for the cell that you are currently on.
Consider that NVDA and Jaws support colspan if scope-'colgroup' for headers associated with more than one column, though there is no support for the corresponding rowspan/scope="rowgroup" attribute.
