Yes, the link that Steve provided to the Firefox bug about landmark
navigation is particularly insightful. Note that it dates all the way back
to 2011 and still no action has been taken. Somewhat recently I added my
own plea at the bottom of that list:

I encourage people to up-vote that bug and add their own comments to help
get the attention of Firefox developers!
