Thanks everyone, this is good to know. I hadn't considered that touch-only
browsers would be left out as well. I'll just add another column to the
table in this case.

If I make tooltips with CSS, tied to hover and focus so that touch browsers
can access them, what's a good way to expose the tooltip information to a
screen reader?
