W3school accessible toggle switch

Hi,
How can I make the w3schools toggle switch keyboard accessible? I added a tabindex on the input element to make it get focus. That works for focus.
I have tried to replace display:none. With offscreen positioning however this does not work.

Do I need javascript event handler or can I make it accessible with css only?
