Hi Karen, the bill passed the US House of Representatives. Here is an article
https://www.adatitleiii.com/2018/02/house-passes-bill-to-amend-title-iii-of-the-ada-in-attempt-to-curb-drive-by-lawsuits/

It affects physical ADA issues at this time. Some physical ADA issues are life threatening in my experience such as the underside of steps that are not portion off to prevent people who are blind or visually impaired from hitting them with their heads. It does not impact other parts of the ADA, Section 508, or CVAA.

Subject: [WebAIM] ADA bill passed that guts the legislation?

I heard on the news this morning that a stand alone bill was passed in Congress yesterday that in effect guts the ADA.

Does anyone have specific information on the bill and how does this affect other legislation in the US like Section 508, and education based accessibility laws?

Cheers, Karen
