Hi Patrik, aria-describedat was made obsolete by aria-details before ARIA 1.1 became a recommendation
Aria-details does have some support limitations that I have documented.

Subject: [WebAIM] aria-describedat In or Not In
Hi Everyone,
aria-describeat can be a very useful contribution to ARIA family as it is meant to be the replacement for longdesc in HTML 5. But it is quite some time now and no User Agent is supporting (plz let me know if there is any) this attribute. Please share if anyone has any idea about when we can start using this without worrying about compatibility.
Thanks & Regards
PRATIK ROY
