True! And I agree that on its own (without visible label or floating label) ir would fail 3.3.2 (as Patrick also pointed out). Was just trying to understand the mismatch between the accname spec and the HTML API spec - which @jnurthen on twitter has cleared up by pointing to https://github.com/w3c/accname/issues/17
