I use alt+leftarrow as the browser back button all the time, but
occasionally it doesn't work. In your situation, I presume you are viewing
the PDF in the browser itself?
The shortcut key should be a browser key, not an NVDA key.
I find it an easy shortcut because it's easy for my hands to hit those two
keys. Left thumb on the left alt and right thumb on the left arrow, hands
split.
