At Ohio Labor Market Information we have written a manual to allow visually challenged persons to run the Ohio Career Information System (OCIS), a computerized system available in many One Stops, county Job & Family Services offices, etc. in Ohio. OCIS has general descriptions of jobs that apply all over the US, however the employment projections, wages, educational sources, etc. are specific to Ohio. There are also tapes and a Braille version.
If anyone is interested in knowing more about the manual, please let me know and I can find out about the rules concerning any distribution of the manual that may be possible. The manual is property of the Ohio Dept. of Job & Family Services (ODJFS), however I believe there are ways we can provide more info about this. It may help others to set up similar resources.
Also there was a DOL - ETA conference on disabilities earlier this month in Chicago, assume they are being held in other DOL Regions.
Yours, Don Wonnell Labor Market Analyst, ODJFS / LMI
