Semantic HTML is good.

When you say WAVE is marking them, are you talking about the blue icons (assuming you can see the screen and can see color)? The blue icons are "structural" elements and are just FYI. They're not being flagged as an error.

Attached is a screenshot of the blue unordered list icon. You're ok if that's how it's being marked.
