Lucy,

I usually look in the file menu and open a dropdown like File or Edit and see what it shows next to each item like

File menu dropdown
Save Control plus S
Save As Control plus Shift plus S

Edit menu dropdown
Cut control plus X
Copy control plus C
Paste control plus V

Both of the above in Notepad in Windows.

The newer versions of Word have switched from showing such things.

hi yes that is corect. but what i am looking for is more mental then that.
is there a standard that says use ? to show keyboard short cuts and says ctrl x is cut and so on is there a stander list of what should be a good keyboard shortcut list and what other norlam keyboard shortcuts are
