This usually happens when your table contains merged cells, in which case you need to add ColSpan and/or RowSpan attributes to those cells in the PDF. The easiest way to do that is by using the Table Editor, but you can also do it in the cell's Properties.

Subject: [WebAIM] Question about accessible tables in word and converting to pdf

Hi, I have a question about an accessible table in Word.

I recently took WebAim's accessible documents class and set up my table with correctly identified headers. I also set the table properties so that the header repeats on each page and the rows cannot break across pages.

However, when I convert to PDF and run the accessibility check, I receive an error: "Regularity - Failed" for both tables: "To be accessible, tables must contain the same number of columns in each row, and rows in each column."

Can anyone suggest why this might be happening? Thank you!

Julie
