can "Use High Contrast" option be detected on the PC?

I'm having
difficulty with some html content while in High Contrast mode. The default
High Contrast setting increases fonts so much that the content on our pages
become very difficult to read. (I should mention, however, that simply
enlarging the font size in IE to larger or largest is not a
problem).
I was curious if
there is a way to detect that setting via JavaScript (or otherwise) from a page
so I can adjust my .css
