It is one big discussion, that one. Personally, I think breadcrumbs
are a good tool to quickly go back one step or two up, but when the
trail is six or seven items it becomes more of a nuisance than a help.
The home link might be redundant, seeing that you should have an
easier to reach home link anyways. The best option is to test it with
some users. You might even be able to add a tracking tool to the
breadcrumb trail and check the stats from that.
