Since no one has mentioned it yet, the longest running online accessible
web design course (since summer 1998) is taught by yours truly through
the HTML Writers Guild/International Webmasters Association. The next course
is...uh, I forget. ;) I need to look it up and put it on the web site; it's
in a couple months. The URL for the course info site is:
http://access.idyllmtn.com/d201/
The original version of the course material is available for free online
at that URL, although some of it is dated. Taking the current course gives
you instructor-led lessons, peer-to-peer interaction, and an optional
completion certificate from HWG/IWA. It takes about 2-5 hours per week,
over a seven week course, including reading and project assignments. The
textbook is Mike Paciello's book.
