Andrew,

I was wondering what you know about Adobe Captivate and accessibility,
especially regarding the controls. I was recently shown a tutorial (on a
Gov't site) created by captivate. The content producer did a pretty good job
of narrating well, but the thing I immediately noticed was I could not
activate the controls by keyboard. Is this a missing feature or something
that was missed by the content producer? I'm unable to find anything about
that on the Captivate 3 accessibility page:
http://www.adobe.com/accessibility/products/captivate/index.html

TIA

Was going to point out the same, but then I didn't think you were
having a "d'oh" moment, as if you read
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/video_captionate_03.html it
tells you how to use Captionate (from Manitu) to add data to your FLV.

Seems like keyboard access is doable...

<http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/video_captionate_06.html>;

Interesting that it looks like Captionate was recently purchased by
Adobe, since it's now called "Adobe® Captivate® 3". When I looked
into it only a few days ago it was still an independent product

You're not the first to get these confused. Adobe Captivate does have a
built in captioning feature, so there is some similarity in features,
but apart from that they are quite different. :)

Karl,

You absolutely can. The Captivate output's interface is fully keyboard
accessible. You should be able to tab through the controls and will
notice a slightly-too-light (in the default skin) focus rectangle and
when you hit the space bar on any of the controls you'll activate it.

If you are using FireFox you will have trouble getting focus into the
flash content (a bug that firefox and Flash Player need to address
together), but once the focus is in the flash area in the
flash-in-firefox environment the same applies.

So the answer is it should work by default. Can you provide a link to
an example?

Thanks,
AWK
