Hello,
I am a screen reader user, and I'm interested in taking some online web
development courses. I have to start off with the basics, because I
know pretty much nothing about designing my own web page. Would any of
you know where I could go for an onlien course like this?
Thanks,
Mary

Mary
I am currently taking a series of corses, and certifications, through
www.w3schools.com (I just started).
They have short courses on html, css, javascript, ajax, jquery etc and
you can pay $98, take an online exam and get certification from them
that you have completed that course. I will take my first exam next
week and they offerred me a free one to test the accessibility of the
online exams.
Their material is pretty simple and easy to understand, their online
editor is pretty accessible and allows you to test things, more or
less in real time.
They have more advanced things.
I think this might be a good start for you.
Cheers

The inaccuracies in their free HTML guides trouble me, and the many pages of PHP tutorials with massive security holes worry me greatly. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
