Hello everyone,

Does any of you know if screen readers can interact and read information
inserted on a header or footer of a MSWord document?

Thank you!

Yes, if they choose to go into the header or footer. It is not something
that is read automatically. It is easy to go into a header or footer but not
something we normally do unless we are creating a document.

Some people put the title of the document in a header...just say no.

Anything you want us to read goes into the main body of the document not a
header or footer.

Cheers, Karen

Hi, Karen,

There are a lot of people here who like using watermarks, and we've started getting them into the habit of using Headers and Footers instead for watermark-like information (draft, confidential, etc.), for the ease of reading a document for those individuals with vision impairments but still have usable vision and for the rest of us who are just aging (some more gracefully than others <smile>). And then there are things like page numbers, which Word automatically puts into the Footer.

Any thoughts on how to 'satisfy' everyone?

Have a great weekend all!

WHAT IF THE FIRST QUESTION WE ASKED WAS, "WHAT IS SO UNIQUE ABOUT THIS SITUATION THAT IT JUSTIFIES EXCLUSION? INSTEAD OF, "HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO MAKE IT ACCESSIBLE?"
