Thanks! Is there any difference in support between Windows 98 and 2000
or NT?

I don't think there is any functional difference, but you will pay more
for the Win2k version over the Win98 version.

Hi Ruth,
The professional versions of Windows Eyes and Jaws both support all Window
OS's. The standard version of Windows Eyes supports Windows 95, 98, ME and
the standard Jaws 95/98/Me & XP Home.

Hi Ruth,

I believe that on NT (not 2000 or XP), you cannot hear JAWS and another audio
application at the same time (or any 2 audio applications), if that is a
concern. I did use JAWS for testing on NT for quite a while and only
discovered that glitch just before I switched over to 2000. 2000 seems to be
fine for 2 audio apps. I've had some other problems with the sound going
away for all apps on 2000, but I think that is some system config problem
that I need to get checked out.

And just for the record, it has really been helpful for me and my group for
me to have learned what I could about JAWS, even though I was quite skeptical
at first. I think it would be even better if we had people who used JAWS all
the time to test our sites. Unfortunately we have not had resources to find
or pay people to do that.

You may also want to look into ConnectOutloud. It is a cut-down and less
expensive version of JAWS that works with fewer applications, but includes
the Web. We have this on a laptop to use for demos. I've used it for a few
things, and it seems just like JAWS as far as I could tell.

Best wishes,
Carol
