Laura Carlson is organizing votes to get Firefox to support UI for longdesc. I thought I'd help out by sending out this post. If you could spare a few minutes to vote for this Firefox bug (requires a registration with Bugzilla) that would be great:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id
4848
There are 60+ votes already, many from our peers in the accessibility community. Laura has put in tremendous efforts over the past 2 years to have longdesc part of HTML5 spec and your votes can help transform a concept in a spec into a tangible product enhancement that actually helps people. FYI: Microsoft, Apple and Google have fixed accessibility bugs in the last year in great part due to public attention and votes.
Thanks in advance.

Many thanks, Vlad, for posting this [1].
It seems there is a typo in the link provided. The link to the bug is:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id
4848
Bugzilla isn't very user friendly and I have received some questions
regarding how to create a Bugzilla account and vote. I drafted the
following to help provide that information.
http://www.d.umn.edu/~lcarlson/research/ld-moz-voting.html
I hope it helps.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best Regards,
Laura

The link to the bug was mangled again [1]
Perhaps a tinyurl will work better.

Thanks again.
