Subject: Does Mac Voiceover not read table captions?
No previous message | Next message →
This is the part where I readily admit I don't use a mac every day so I
could just be woefully inadequate at using Voiceover.
I was doing some testing, and noticed that Voiceover would never read
the table caption like JAWS or NVDA do. Sometimes, this caption explains
what the heck is in the table. Is there a way to make Voiceover find it?
Or, *gasp*, does it not even know how to find it?
Thanks for any thoughts.

Yes VO OS X and iOS read data table <caption> elements. Use the Table Quick Navigation Commands VO+Command+t or the rotor VO+U.
Now the rest of the story for VoiceOver Data Table Accessibility is bad though.
