Hi,

I'm preparing a talk about WAI-ARIA best practices. I've collected some interesting isolated examples (from the ARIA Authoring Practices and Heydon Pickering's Practical examples), but I'm not aware of any good use of ARIA in the wild, on popular sites. I'd like to demo these.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Roel

What do you mean by good?
Do you only want complex examples? Or specific examples for tech solutions like modals or forms or similar?
I've got a really nice example of using ARIA on CSS images to provide a text alternative (not my site though).
https://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/book - look at the tile images (Taxis, travel insurance etc).
Just disregard the obvious content accessibility error.

Hi Roel,
https://www.zdf.de/ uses a fair amount of ARIA for menus, unfoldable sections etc and looks like it's been crafted quite carefully. There were some issues with focus visibility but it looks as if these have been addressed in the meantime. Purists may also find issues with focus order but I guess they are minor. I am not sure however whether the constructs are in all cases implemented down to the letter of ARIA autoring recommendations.
Best,
Detlev

Hi,
If it's of help, all of the widgets implemented on this page are fully functional widgets using ARIA within a multi-layered single page application.
