We use Qualtrics and have a survey which requires a signature block. The
signature block is a canvas element and requires visual interaction.
What are some alternatives that others have used in place of this
inaccessible option?

From our experience, we consider an electronic signature as valid as long as we log that the user is authenticated and have some element that requires action. So for instance, we'll have the user authenticate and then we have a button that the user needs to click to approve a record. Another example could be authentication with a textbox that requests the user to enter his or her name.
You can add an authentication component to qualtrics so this could be a viable solution for you.

Hi Corrine,
Have you had a look at DocuSign? They don't require a hand-written signature and, in fact, provide you with fonts that emulate a signature. We've assessed their platform and found them very accessible.
SC 2.1.1 Keyboard has one exception, however: "except where the underlying function requires input that depends on the path of the user's movement and not just the endpoints." But I feel like signing a document is a critical function and absolutely needs to work. Check out DocuSign. If that doesn't work for you, there's not a lot you can do with <canvas>. You can provide text alternatives, add actionable elements to it, make it work with the keyboard, but I don't know how a user could make a signature without typing.
