I've seen some people using encoded captions using the CEA 608 methods common in broadcasting. OBS Studio is free and a common method of streaming into Facebook live and allows for the caption encoding from third parties.

Thanks, Jonathan! Looks like very useful information - I'll pass it on to our video producers and social media staff. I'm hoping they or their technical support staff will understand the dos and don'ts. have you found this process 'user friendly'?
