It *sounds* like the actual text version acts as conforming alternate
version https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#dfn-conforming-alternate-versions
for the diagram (assuming it conveys all the same information), so this
may pass.

Is the accordion clearly labelled as being an alternate version of the diagram or low vision/dyslexic users are not getting the pointer that the alt text provides. I agree with Patrick though...
