Heh heh heh. Yes, I/we've been arguing against accesskeys for some time
now. The UK standard issue does cause concern to me, but being a
Canadian citizen, I have zero influence there... I wish UK based web
accessibility advocates and institutions would speak up, but... (for
what it's worth, I was directly instrumental in getting the Canadian
Government standard to re-think their policy and remove the accesskey
requirement).
I understand about balance and client requirements - if you must follow
the UK standard, then you must. However, if the client is unsure or
un-decided, please point them to our articles before the make their
final decisions.
