Thanks for these comments
I realise that there are some things that need fixing - I am updating all
the time, and cleaning up all the time ... chasing tail!
Anyway, Just to cover a couple of points: The Home page (default.asp) is
updated using Blogger which, unfortunately, does not give me an option of
using <br /> - it defaults to <br>. In short, this page will always show
invalid mark-up because of the way it's updated, and there's not a huge
amount I can do about that (unless anyone knows how I can configure Blogger
to do this ... it's not the Pro version)
Also, the splash page is not something I want either. However, the host
decrees that the default document for the server is index.html or index.cfm,
and my pages are ASP. Now, I cannot set the home page as index.html
otherwise the ASP code that works everywhere else will fail on that page.
Problem. I am also very wary about placing a client-side redirect because it
may impact on search engines indexing the site.
I am looking intos a solution that doesn't upset search engines though.
Finally, the Mac/IE5 thing is something I'm aware of, and I've created a new
style sheet for that config which I THINK should work now.
Thanks for the feedback!
