Hello WebAIM form,

I am a totally blind person and use NVDA as my screen reader of choice
on a desktop computer.
I wish to self-publish a book I have written to: Amazon,
Draft2Digital, and Kobo, respectively.
Draft2Digital offers one the option to grant permission for assistance
on its website. I have an answer pending from Kobo as to their
practices.
Amazon seems the most restrictive even requiring two factor
application by one holding an account let alone granting permit for
assistance.
Is there a seamless way to resolve this issue with most major
self-publishing venues?
Thanks for any input provided.

The party providing assist is letting me use their publish imprint

I googled this a bit for you and it was difficult to find much because most
of the results were about how to self-publish accessible e-books instead of
how to self-publish if you are blind. Google is frustrating sometimes.

I did come across a blind author, Cheryl Gillespie, who wrote a guest blog
post about publishing (the section about publishing is about halfway
through the blog post). https://kathysteinemann.com/Musings/gillespie/
Her facebook is https://www.facebook.com/Thebraillenarrative/. Maybe you
should message her on facebook and she can give you some advice.

I wish I had more time this weekend to look at the accessibility of the
self-publishing platforms! But maybe someone else here will weigh in.
