Hi to all.

I'm looking for your views, on performing accessibility testing with a screen reader such as Jaws or NVDA in a citrix environment.
Some time ago, I recall that responses were very slow in this environment. Is this still the case? Or can components be validated accurately using Citrix.
All opinions and thoughts are welcome.

Best wishes,

Brian Dalton.

I’d love to be proven wrong, but I have yet to see this really work well. While it may be possible to get screen readers running over Citrix, there are a variety of technical (and possibly licensing) challenges and ultimately, I’ve always found there to be at least some degree of lag. Even if that lag is small, it’s noticeable if performing testing for any period of time. Again, I’d love to be proven wrong about all this because I see value in leveraging Citrix in certain situations, but until then, I would not recommend it.

Hi Steve.

Your thoughts concur with mine, that lag would affect validation.
I think we can get over the licencing issues, but the lag would affect results. Thanks for your input though.

Best wishes,

Brian Dalton.
