Hi,
Try the floatutorial at MaxDesign:
http://css.maxdesign.com.au/floatutorial/
Get a copy of "Eric Meyer on CSS" (& "More Eric Meyer..."), Jeffrey
Zeldman's "Designing with Web Standards" and Dan Cederholm's "Web
Standards Solutions". They should set you up.
>From my own experience, take a look at www.cssvault.com for
inspiration, and strip your site back to well-structured (X)HTML
before applying the layout using CSS.

Tim

Here are a couple more resources for you:
To see the potential of CSS, give you code to learn from, and find a
great list of CSS resources check out CSS Zen Garden:
http://www.csszengarden.com/ Be forewarned that some of these examples
have accessibility issues.
A list apart is also a good source of CSS tutorials:

ACK, although I have participated with a design at CSSZengarden (which
has mouse dependent effects) I consider it more confusing than helpful
for designers who want to learn about how to use CSS for layout. It
started nicely, but has become a "how many image replacements can I
cram in one document" competition.

I also learnt a lot from the classics:
http://www.bluerobot.com/web/layouts/

John and Holly's stuff is excellent... They also write and answer forum
questions at http://www.communitymx.com
Do you have the original PNG or PSD of the site? Or has it been so long that
that's no longer available?
