Microsoft has a new article on making accessible content with FrontPage
2000. The article is pretty good, although there are certain things that
they failed to mention, such as the fact that it is not sufficient to simply
create table headaers. You also have to associate the cells with the headers
in the table. You have to get into the HTML to do this, and can't do it from
the WYSIWYG interface. Still, the article gives good advice and is worth
taking a look at if you use Front Page, or if you know someone who does.

Even more serious is this
quote
If you wish to provide alternative text associated with an <AREA> tag, you
will need to do so through the HTML view.

It used to be that after you did this, front page would erase the alt
text. I assume that's fixed now.

Hi,
I've been working on accessibility tips for Front Page for a few months now
(with assistance from Mo Hencemann, Nathan Lowell, and Salwa Mohammed)- it
continues to be a work in progress. Please review "Guidelines for Developing
Accessible Web Pages in FrontPage 98 and FrontPage 2000" on my website at
http://www.regis.edu/disability/webaccessibility.htm
and give me feedback so that I can make it better.
Many thanks, KoKo Oyler, Director, Disability Services, Regis University

Hi KoKo,
I have forwarded this URL onto our new multimedia person, who knows Front
Page. I have asked her to review the information. Her name is Sally Cordrey
in case you hear from her. Thanks,
Mo
