Subject: Checking color contrast in pdf, doc, etc files on web

I am working with a colleague on a Web accessibility webinar targeting how to properly prep Word/Excel/PowerPoint docs for accessibility, including when they are converted to pdf. I was looking for the best resource when there was a need to check color contrast of a word/excel/powerpoint/pdf file. Many color contrast analyzers target web pages. I noticed Chrome had a browser add-on for such things as this.

Does anyone recommend any specific tool(s)?

you can check any colour combo in any file/app using this

+1, I use CCA all the time, it has never let me down !
Personal tip: anti-aliasing will make small text appear blurry when
magnified. It's hard then to choose, among the different shades, which one
is the actual color of text. I've found out that the horizontal bar of the
"e" is a reliable place to find the right color.
