Thanks to all that replied yesterday re: tasklists for implementing
checkpoint items. I was actually hoping to find something even more
specific... example:

i.e. for checkpoint 1.1...

1) Run your site through the "A-prompt" accessibility evaluation program to
identify key areas of concern within this checkpoint.

2) Search entire site for all occurrences of images, graphics, images as
buttons, applets, scripts, image map regions, graphical representations of
text and symbols, programmatic objects, ascii art, spacers, sounds, images
as bullets, stand-alone audiofiles, audio tracks of video, video, etc.

3) Look for cases where one particular graphic/sound/etc. exists multiple
times (i.e. the government logo) and attempt to use a global find & replace
to fix these recurring examples.

4) Search through the <a
href="http://intra.webcentral.jus.gov.on.ca:9000/content/accessibility/issue
s.asp#1.1">remediation section</a> for more examples of how to repair
problems in this checkpoint.

5) Ensure that each of the above elements has an alt, longdesc or equivalent
tag with adequate descriptions for the non-sighted or those whose user
client may not support the object.

6) Test the site by ensuring that each of these items can be adequately
described by various user client types (i.e. text to speech synthesizers,
text only browsers, etc.)

7) Run your site through the "A-prompt" accessibility evaluation tool again
to ensure that all related areas have been dealt with appropriately.

We're trying to appeal to a large number of developers within the department
and want to provide an extensive list to give everyone lots of ideas on how
to implement each checkpoint.

If you come across anything like that in the next little while, please keep
me in mind!
