The last time (a number of years ago) I did an in-depth review of embeddable WYSIWYG HTML editors, CKEditor did not come out on top. (Ahem.) Now that I'm back to look at it again, it looks like they have done a lot of work. I'm sure a good deal of credit for that goes to Mike Gifford as part of his work on Drupal accessibility - CKEditor is the "preferred" editor for Drupal. They currently claim WCAG2, 508, and WAI-ARIA (and maybe ATAG2) compliance.
I would like to hear from anybody who is currently using CKEditor with assistive technologies (or keyboard-only) about your experience. Is it easy to learn and use? Can you compare it pro or con with other embeddable WYSIWYG HTML editors? Have you encountered any barriers to task completion? No story is too trivial!
Thank you,
sb

Hi Sarah,

I don't have answers for you but I can point you to a couple resources
where you can hopefully do some testing and formulate your own opinions:

1. The CKEditor docs. There's a section on accessibility:
http://docs.ckeditor.com/#!/guide/dev_a11y
2. To enhance accessibility testing in the editor, there's the
Accessibility Checker button addon. It's pricey from what I understand but
looks very interesting - https://cksource.com/a11ychecker/demo/

Hope that's helpful.

Mickey
