Screen Reader User Survey #11
Introduction
The following survey is a follow-up to previous WebAIM Screen Reader User Surveys. This survey is primarily intended to collect new information and track updates/trends from previous surveys. By completing this survey you will help inform development choices for those creating accessible web content and web standards. All screen reader users, even those who use screen readers only for evaluation and testing, are invited to participate.
The survey will remain open through August 31, 2026. No personally identifying information is collected. When submitted, your browser version and operating system will be collected. Results will be reported as aggregated summaries and will be published September 2026. Your participation is purely voluntary and you can choose to stop at any time. This is a research study that is of minimal risk and is conducted by Jared Smith of the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice at Utah State University. It has been approved by Utah State University's Institutional Review Board (#16218). There are 28 brief questions that will take approximately 5-10 minutes. Although you will not directly benefit from taking this survey, your experiences and opinions could help inform the web accessibility field. The risk includes a potential loss of confidentiality. While the research team works to ensure confidentiality to the degree permitted by technology, it is possible, although unlikely, that unauthorized individuals could gain access to your responses because you are responding online. However, your participation in this online survey involves risks similar to a person's everyday use of the Internet. The survey data is collected via an encrypted/SSL protected web server and stored in a secure database. After data analysis, an archive will be placed in a secure server and any copy on a local machine will be deleted. To retain a copy of this information, save this page in your web browser.
