I just discovered Adobe came out with a preview edition of Digital Editions
(ver 1.8) the will work with VoiceOver on the Mac (Yipee!). Directions for
downloading and installing are here:

e.html

Adobe has also announced some new support for Open Source AT - specifically
support for NVDA's ability to interact with PDF documents, AIR applications,
and ebooks read in Adobe Digital Editions, and for general HTML and ARIA
improvements.

Read all about it:

I tested DA yesterday with Jaws and NVDA (preview 3 ov version 1.8) and read
an unprotected epub2 book with no problems (braille and voice support),
though sometimes it appears the space between a full stop and the first
letter of the following sentence sometimes disappears, not sure if it is the
book or the software though.
Good experience so far, though I have yet to play with other formats.
Are there any discussion lists on accessible eBooks in particular.
I realize this is a very borderline topic for this list, but have quite a
few questions on the subject.
