FYI: Maybe you did not read through the thread.
That piece of markup was not mine to begin with ... it was in the
email I responded to. That email also suggested shifting some
responsibility to the browser from the developer and my email used
that example markup from the previous exchange to highlight the
pitfall of shifting that responsibility.
