Hey Jennifer,
I don't have any experience with this plugin, but it's popular, so I imagine the developers would be open to any feedback to improve it. That feedback would go a long way too since, according to the plugin directory, it's used on more than 100,000 sites.
Maybe file the issues on Github, and advise your clients to switch until those issues are fixed? The issues with most sharing plugins are usually minor.
