Prithi,
You can do what you're trying to do (most likely - I havn't seen your
code or spec), but with components the style inheritance model is
different than using CSS in HTML. Take a look at this resource for some
additional info (relates to MX2004, but still good):

Hi All,

We are trying to develop a flash movie, that uses CSS to enable
users to adjust their display settings. We are using flash professional
8 and publishing the movie on the Internet.

The problem we are facing is that, when the user adjusts the
display settings, only the display properties of text changes. However,
the display properties of navigation elements such as buttons and other
components do not change.

This leads to partial accessibility and complete control to the
user is not provided.

Has anyone of you tried to use css and flash and to what extent
was it successful?
