Dr. Rowland is the associate director at the Institute for Disability Research, Policy, and Practice. She currently directs projects that focus on the development and use of accessible technologies. WebAIM is one such program. Dr. Rowland began WebAIM in 1998 with federal funding and has worked to sustain the excellent contributions of this group over the years. Dr. Rowland is extensively involved in the National Center for Disability and Access to Education where she is the chair of the Technology Institute. Dr. Rowland is considered by many to be an expert in accessibility policy and law. She has worked extensively with education systems in transforming their practices to those that are accessible. Dr. Rowland has presented to over 90 groups on accessibility, and writes on topics of interest (currently the impact of accessible design on individuals with cognitive impairment). She has written over 30 articles on the web, in journals, and in books. Dr. Rowland has taken leadership roles in 25 federal and state contracts and grants. She looks forward to a day when she is unemployed because the web is a space that can be accessed by all.

Jared Smith is the Associate Director of WebAIM. He is a highly demanded presenter and trainer and has provided web accessibility training to tens of thousands of web professionals throughout the world. With over 20 years of experience working in the web design, development, and accessibility field, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that is used to help others create and maintain highly accessible web content. Much of his written work, including a broad range of tutorials, articles, and other materials, is featured on the WebAIM site. Jared is active on twitter at @jared_w_smith.

Jonathan is the director of training at WebAIM. His main passion is helping others learn to make the web more accessible to people with disabilities. Jonathan was also involved in the GOALS Project, a program to assist institutions of higher education in improving their accessibility system-wide. With a master's degree in instructional technology and over seventeen years of experience in the field of web accessibility, Jonathan has published dozens of articles, tutorials, and other instructional resources. He has traveled extensively to train thousands of web developers and other professionals who develop or maintain web content.

George manages the online training program at WebAIM. He has a master’s degree in instructional psychology and technology, and over 20 years of teaching experience. He has developed online courses at Utah State University since 2008, and he joined the WebAIM team at the end of 2015. The Accessible Documents video-based course launched in July 2018, and over 5,000 participants have enrolled in this independent-study training. George also conducts pre-conference workshops and delivers presentations at national conferences. He is on LinkedIn.

John has worked in web development since 2000, in roles including design, coding, usability, and accessibility. He thrives on the challenge of facilitating delightful, engaging experiences for aural and visual users alike. He holds a master's in information science from the University of Michigan School of Information, an undergraduate degree in mass communications from Goddard College, and a CPACC certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals.
Anna holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Utah State University. She developed a passion for accessible design after being exposed to its basic principles in her undergraduate projects. She has a particular interest in edge cases, where very unusual or innovative design patterns interact with assistive technology. She likes to spend her free time hiking and enjoying the outdoors.

Crista began providing administrative support to WebAIM in January of 2016. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in December of 2014 in family finance. She has worked for Utah State University since 2013 as a testing proctor, data collection clerk for the StartSmart K-3 Plus Program, and financial counselor before joining the WebAIM team. She does everything she can to keep things running smoothly, so that the rest of the team can focus on their goals to improve accessibility across the web.
Alyson has spent the majority of her life living in Cache Valley. She earned her bachelor's degree at USU and is excited to be working on campus with the WebAIM team as a course facilitator. In August she will graduate from Arizona State University with a master's in family and human development. Her husband is attending graduate school at USU, studying wildlife ecology. She loves going for walks, trying new recipes, reading, and teaching tricks to their one-year-old dog, Flynn.
Grant Estes graduated with a BA in Psychology from University of San Diego in 2018, and then later graduated with an MA in Instructional Technology & Learning Sciences from Utah State University in 2021. Grant's interests range from all outdoor activities to teaching music via guitar instruction, reading, cooking, board games, and any cerebral activity that engages fun and thinking. Grant has been working as a multimedia specialist for WebAIM since October, 2021.
Alaina is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she received a B.S. in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Her interest in web accessibility touches on her passion for attention to technique and detail and a people-centered approach to web development. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, baking, and exploring the natural beauty of Utah.
